FAQs

What’s the best way to RSVP?

Please feel free to RSVP online through the “RSVP” tab above or through mail.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please send your RSVP by Friday, August 12, 2022.

Why do you recommend reserving rooms early?

The Tetons are a popular vacation spot and rooms reserve quickly. Most accommodations including Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Cabins, and Signal Mountain Lodge fill to capacity.

Is there a hotel room block?

Unfortunately, we are unable to book a block of rooms in Jackson Lake Lodge. If booking a room at this location, please mention the Dawson-Arshad wedding so that the hotel knows you are there for the wedding!

What do the rooms mean in Jackson Lake Lodge? What is a cabin versus a lodge room?

Jackson Lake Lodge has a total of 385 rooms. Of these, less than 40 rooms are within the actual lodge (“lodge room”). The majority are in the cabins flanking the lodge (“cabin rooms”) as shown in the map below.

Can I cancel or change my reservations?

Yes! Cancellation policies for Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Cabins, and Signal Mountain Lodge allow you to cancel or change your reservation up to 7 days before arrival date without loss of deposit.

I would like a room in the lodge, or a room with a view of the mountains but none are available, can I change rooms later?

Yes! Cancellations will occur as we get closer to the date, with highly desired rooms becoming available. Check back online to see if your preferred room has become available in the months leading up to the wedding.

Will the ceremony and reception take place outdoors?

We plan to have both the Persian and American ceremonies outdoors, weather permitting. Our cocktail hour will be indoor-outdoor, and the reception will be indoors within the lodge.

What is the weather like this time of year?

September in the Tetons can be highly variable and marks the transition from summer to fall. Generally, you can expect sunny days and cold nights with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Rain is possible, but not expected.

Is there a dress code?

Formal attire for the wedding and reception is optional. Casual (and warm) attire is requested for all other events.

Do you have a registry?

At this destination wedding, your presence is our present. No gifts, please.

Can the little ones come?

Absolutely! Please let us know if they would like an adult or child’s meal when you RSVP.

Should we rent a car?

If you are planning on spending extra time in the area, we strongly recommend renting a car to be able to fully experience the park.

How do I get to the venue if we aren’t planning to rent a car?

Please send your flight information if you are flying in to Jackson Airport to ashleyandarshia@gmail.com and would like assistance getting to Jackson Lake Lodge. There will be transportation from the lodge to the raft trip as well as from the lodge to the rehearsal dinner in Jackson.

Should we spend extra time in the area?

If you have the time, Grand Teton National Park, and its neighbor Yellowstone National Park are two very unique places in the US. If you haven’t been before we hope you can take the opportunity to explore these areas. The Tetons are excellent for hiking, rafting, and kayaking with crystal-clear lakes against a mountain backdrop. Yellowstone has activities for all ages including hiking, exploring the geyser basins, bus tours, and wildlife viewing.

If you are interested in extending your stay, please see our “activities” page for more information.

Should we be concerned about wildlife in the area?

The Tetons are home to a wide variety of wildlife including bears, bison, elk, and moose. It is unlikely that you would come across wildlife in the lodge/wedding area as it is highly populated and developed. If you do plan to hike or venture further into the park, we recommend carrying bear spray on backcountry trails and following the park’s safety guidelines for wildlife viewing.
